Okay, okay, I admit it: I am a fan of Akakievich.com. I think it's one of the coolest and fastest-blogging sites on the web. F**king Alexi Akakievich... man, you've gotta give credit to that Cossack buttknob!

Check out Personal Effects: Dart Art by J.C. Hutchins

Submitted by Seth on Tue, 06/09/2009 - 08:53

Today a major voice in the podcast world drops his first published book!

St. Martin's press releases J.C. Hutchins' debut Personal Effects: Dart Art today for all the world to read. Never before heard as a podcast, first time anywhere.

I had the good luck to read this baby a month or so back and it blew me away. Above you'll see a montage video of me and 10 other podcast authors spouting off on how much we liked this book. To read for yourself, go out and get the book here. I'm getting mine. No doubt!

Direct link to video for download.

The mastermind behind this video is Mike Bekemeyer, the same cool dude who did my JWU/Book Release 2.0 Video. He's done 10 other trailers for J.C. here

Jeremy Robinson's PULSE

My great friend and the former editor of Breakneck Books (before he sold the company)--that's right, THE Breakneck Books that brought out JWU last year and gave me my first break--has just come out with a new thriller novel called PULSE.

HOW MANY PEOPLE WOULD YOU KILL TO LIVE FOREVER?

Imagine a world where soldiers regenerate and continue fighting without pause, where suicide bombers live to strike again and again. This is the dream of Richard Ridley, founder of Manifold Genetics, and he has just discovered the key to eternal life: an ancient artifact buried beneath a Greek-inscribed stone in the Peruvian desert.

Scott Sigler says, "Raiders of the Lost Arc meets Tom Clancy meets Saturday matinee monster flick with myths, monsters, special ops supermen and more high tech weapons than a Bond flick. Pulse is an over-the-top, bullet-ridden good time." Check it out HERE.

AT THE HALFWAY MARK...

Today we hear from our friend Anthony Neil Smith! He's our boy and, just like the Indy 500, he's running a long, serious race.

One week of the HOGDOGGIN VIRTUAL MOTORCYCLE RALLY down, one more to go on our way to HOGDOGGIN' Monday--JUNE 1st--when I'd like you fine readers to take a chance on my new novel--a biker noir following Billy Lafitte, the bad cop from YELLOW MEDICINE, on his descent to hell via the midwestern prairies--and send it racing up the charts.  Order it online or at your local bookstore, or get in touch with one of the bookstores along my tour route and they'll get a signed copy out to you!

Find out where I'll be over at CRIMEDOG ONE, my "virtual dive bar", and drop in at a signing.  And check out the wild story our 23 guest bloggers are spinning over here during the Rally, and check out my response over at their blogs.  There's a list in the right-hand column so you can follow along.

And thanks to Seth Harwood for his support.  The man's a machine, and he churned out one highly-tuned muscle car of a book with JACK WAKES UP!
