After listening to "Secret Service" over at CrimeWAV, I think I'm going to have to check out Charles Ardai's big anniversary book for Hard Case Crime... sounds like a cool concept. I'm your typical reader who has only brushed into that series... I read the Stephen King one and that's it. If I like Fifty-to-One, I'll have to check out more of them!

Aleas!
Try Ardai's other two books, published under the name Richard Aleas. They're both dynamite!! I LOVE them! SH

Will do
Will do... after all, Hard Case Crime books are damn cheap anyway, so it won't dent my pockets much. I feel a trip to the bookstore in my near future.

I have been there since book one and have several signed books out of the series. If you love the old school noir, this is the place to be.

Fifty-to-One
So, Nathaniel, did you read Fifty-to-One? Ardai did a good job with it. I loved the characters, the plot, and the gimmick of working in the titles of the previous Hard Case Crime novels. If I wasn't already, I would have become a fan based on this book.

Have, but haven't read
I picked up the book in the store when I was home on Thanksgiving, but I haven't had a chance to read it yet. I also picked up the second Aleas book, but since it's a sequel, I need to find a copy of Little Girl Lost first. I know the books in this series read quickly, so I'll put Fifty-to-One on my holiday reading list.
