I noticed the Publisher's Weekly seems to indicate the novel begins with the second paragraph of chapter 2. Is this a re-arrangement, or a jump? I've always considered that opening cafe scene kind of iconic, so I was wondering how much the beginning has been re-worked. It does seem like an equally good opening, in fact, as a first sentence, it probably is a better hook, but I really can't help but be curious... what's changed?

Noticed that too!
Looks like it might start with the second paragraph of the second chapter! Yea Seth, I have my handy dandy PDF version with me at all time!!!! Perhaps they switched the chapter order around but you know they have to bring in chapter 1 somewhere!!!! I'm just glad I have several copies of the original first edition!!!!!!

Lucky...
Both of you are lucky. I only have one copy of the original, and I consider myself ridiculously fortunate to have gotten my hands on it!

Awesome fans!

Wow! You guys are awesome to be so astute about that first line quote we have there in the PW piece. You'll be glad (I hope) to know that the cafe scene remains in tact and is still the first chapter of the book.

We just chose a different line for the PW thing because we thought it'd make a more self-contained hook for their "first line."

On the other hand, I think the "Please be seated" line would've been great too. If they'd let us put in the "Fuck that!"
