Have you ever thought about doing a short story of Shake 'em Down? Nothing too crazy in depth, just something like one of those shitty "based on the hit motion picture" tie-in books. I think it would be kind of fun, maybe make it like an old exploitation flick, tons of violence and sex.

Shake Em Down: the Novelization!
Ha! Yeah, I actually really like that idea. A lot of folks have suggested I write a book/story on what Jack's time was like in the filming of the movie or what it'd be like to actually do the sequel, but no one's ever talked about the idea of doing a novelization of the actual Shake 'Em Down. i think that'd be really funny, or it could. Now I need to think about it. It'd be a pretty far out concept. I actually learned a lot about the movie just from the poster that Jerry Scullion did. Seth

movie vs. life
Don't we already have a pretty good idea of what his life was like? I'm sure it could still be an interesting read/listen, but it seems like there's little mystery there. I think Shake 'Em Down would be fun because Jack's actual life is now so crazy and over the top, you could just totally go nuts with what his movie was like. It seems like everybody that comments about the movie talks about the action being great, so with that, and if you made it a short(ish) story, it could just be page after page of Jack shooting people, stuff getting blown up, car chases, Jack getting laid, etc... and nobody would think it was cheesy. You'd have to have TONS of "make my day" style quotes and one-liners.

No doubt.
It's a good idea. I like it. Now I have to let it simmer in my brain pan.

Shake 'Em Down book
Maybe it's my cynical nature, but try this angle on for size. Yeah the movie making went fine, Jack's having a blast, meets his ex-wife and have whirl wind romance. Another "group" gets the idea that Jack knows something about them and slowly get Jack hooked on drugs which eventually becomes the full-blown addiction he recovers from. The thing is, Jack does not have a single clue about any of this, nor that his wife was a plant sent in by these folks. She's the one who gets Jack addicted.

Conspiracy?
Can you say conspiracy theory?? Damn, that'd be a big old plot! Zam-tastic. I dunno, what do you other folks think? So far I'm more into the idea of writing a screen play or novelization of Shake Em Down. My friend Christa Faust did a novelization of Snakes on a Plane and I can ask her about how it goes... Wait, shake 'em down is a real movie, right? S

Two stories?
Are the ideas mutually exclusive? It seems like two separate story ideas to me. The novelization of Shake Em Down is about Al Haggarty, not Jack Palms. I can't believe there's a book of Snakes on a Plane. Definitely gonna have to check that out, that movie was a riot. "I'm sick and tired of these motherfuckin snakes on the motherfuckin plane!"
